Jace Passmore

Weekend Meteorologist
Myrtle Beach, SC
Jace Passmore

Jace Passmore joined the WMBF First Alert Weather Team as a full-time meteorologist in May 2025.

Weather is Jace’s passion, but chasing storms is #1.

Prepare to see Jace forecasting on Saturday and Sunday mornings and spearheading coverage in the WMBF Storm Tracker.

Jace comes from our sister station, KAIT in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He started at KAIT in October 2022 as the weekend meteorologist for K8 News. During his tenure, Jace hosted two digital shows: Agri Weekly and Weather Now. He won an Emmy award for his coverage of the Wynne, Arkansas, tornado on March 31, 2023.

Tornadoes are Jace’s forte, but he is thrilled to tackle hurricane season in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee. Fun fact: Jace flew from Arkansas to Florida to track Hurricane Idalia on Keaton Beach in August 2023.

However, his favorite storm chase took place only a few miles from his hometown, where Jace pulled a woman to safety after an EF-4 tornado left her Monette, Arkansas home in pieces in 2021.

Jace earned a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

This rural Arkansas native is ready for the beach life. If you see Jace out in the community, give him a warm welcome!
